Stretch Your Lower Back

Posted: 11/20/2009
So many people have lower back issues these days and it has gotten so bad that it has effected the way they live on a daily basis. Anything associated with back pain is a very serious situation and a very painful one at that. Not lifting things properly with good form, bending at the waist and not the knees, or just turning the wrong way has caused many people to be confined to their bed for months at a time. And when somebody has to experience this type of pain level usually the doctor is busting out there prescription pad for a high dose of pain killers just so the patient can become dependent on them down the road. Trust me, even know the pain level gets so bad that narcotic pain killers need to be used, more doctors need to also educate people and themselves how to get to the root of the problem instead of constantly covering it up with pain meds.

For anybody who has experienced minor or even some moderate lower back pain I am going to give you some information for you to start using today to give you some natural relief. If you are dealing with a serious condition please use common sense and seek professional medical advice. But for those who are managing on their own try using these stretches each day for at least 15 minutes per day. If you need to you can do this twice a day.

A lot of the times moderate and very painful lower back issues are do to a very simple problem. Guess what it is? It has something to do with two muscles. One of them is in the back of your leg and the other is deep within the hip joint? Still can't figure it out? It's your hamstrings and your piriformis muscle. Both of these two muscles can become very tight and when this happens it can cause a lot of pain and discomfort in your lower back. You know when you see somebody with lower back pain and they're walking with a limp or leaning to one side? Chances are their hamstrings or piriformis are way too tight and need to be stretched on a regular basis.

Check out these pictures I have added to this article. I know they're basic but I want you to get the idea. When you start doing these stretches on a regular basis for at least 15 minutes per time you will start to see your lower back problems disappear. And once we get you to that point I will show you some lower back rehabilitation exercises to do in your home to start making it stronger. So give these a try, be consistent, and you should see improvement in the next couple weeks. Until next time be safe and stay healthy!
