Eating Less will put the Weight On!Posted: 10/22/2009
Do you know why most people fail to lose weight? Yes, some need more exercise! Yes, some have a genetic disorder! Yes, some have to stop making poor food choices! And Yes some are very lazy! But one of the most simple reasons why people fail to lose weight is because they don't eat enough. That's right! Not Enough!!!! You see, when somebody sets out to lose weight a large majority of people have that old school frame of mind that eating less is the way to fast weight loss. So they eat 2 meals per day. Sometimes those meals consist of salad or a bowl of the cereal in the morning and a big salad in the evening. Sometimes they skip breakfast all together. People, eating less will actually make you gain weight. ![]() Everybody has a certain calorie marker for their current body weight. There is a calorie maker for maintaining your weight, one for losing weight, and another for putting on weight or muscle weight. But most people don't realize this. So when you want to lose weight and you only eat 2 meals per day you are actually under eating because you are not reaching the amount of calories your body needs at that given time to start losing weight. For example, if I wanted to lose weight and currently weigh 180lbs I would need to know how many calories I need at 180lbs to maintain my weight. From there I need to factor in how active I will be during a 7 day period and that will tell me how many calories I need to subtract in order to cause a caloric deficit but still eat enough to maintain health and also to actually start the fat burning process. I know this may sound like work right now but really it isn't. Just remember this, if you don't get in the right amount of calories your body will hold onto and store whatever calories it did not get. If your body is storing calories then you are certainly not burning them. Makes sense right! So you need to figure out how many calories you need right now to maintain your weight and then figure out how active you will be each week and what type of exercise you will be doing.
